Support your peers

Research has shown that peer support and social connection can be hugely beneficial in combatting stigma, creating a supportive workplace culture and network. Being open and transparent can enhance a person’s feeling of belonging; it allows others to share their lived experience and highlights the feeling that we are not alone, even when we feel down. It is the ability to not become overwhelmed by those feelings and recognize that together we can combat even the darkest of days. Think about making it a practice to reach out to one person a day to check in on how they are and offer support.
