Make it safe to be vulnerable

Being vulnerable is not about taking off your ‘mask’, but more about supporting the other person or indeed yourself by knowing you are not alone. Allowing others to know your lived experiences is a way to show that each of us has a story. It allows feelings of isolation to lift, trust to build and a more comfortable experience to take place. Vulnerability is not a weakness; it is merely saying ‘I am human’. Next time a person tells you something they are going through, believe them, listen and respond with empathy. Making it safe for others to share how they are feeling is something everyone can do.
