Have your own back

When you’re flat out at work, it can be easy to fall into bad habits such as slouching at your desk or rushing to lift a heavy box without stopping to get into the right position. Back injuries can take you out of action and cause ongoing problems if not taken seriously so do your best to avoid them in the first place. If you work at a desk, be conscious of your posture to avoid back and neck pain. If you do have to lift something at work, be sure to keep your back straight and lift with your legs – if you need to lift something heavy, take a moment to find a mechanical aid to help you or ask a partner to help.
