Celebrate caregiver milestones

Celebrating caregiver milestones should be part of policy making to allow caregivers to enjoy special occasions with their family. Whether it be a child’s first day at school, a sports day or your child leaving for college, allowing time for that caregiver to experience those days without guilt or judgment from others can go a long way; it shows caregivers they are valued, which can increase employee job satisfaction and loyalty to the company. If current policies do not allow for these occasions, consider raising the issue and suggesting a certain number of days which could be taken to celebrate these milestones.
